An absolutely timeless classic, this beautiful, elegant and dainty art deco style ring was made in England during the first half of the 20th century (most likely during the 1920s). It would make a fantastic engagement ring, but is also a gorgeous "anytime" ring.
Made of buttery 18k gold and cool white platinum, it features a very nice approximately 1/4 carat diamond (3.75mm) in a sparkling old brilliant cut, with great color, clarity and bright rainbow scintillation. The platinum shoulders are engraved with a sweet floral pattern, and the diamond is securely held with petite claw prongs. Please note that I cannot provide the color, clarity, or exact carat weight of the diamond.
The ring is stamped "18 CT & PLAT" along with the number 8, the letter O, and a partially obscured maker's mark that reads either "R&P" or "R&D". I believe the letter O references the ring's original size, which corresponds to a modern US 7.5, although it currently fits a size 6.5. I believe the ring has been sized down, which is why the maker's mark is partially obscured.
