Another exceptional example of the skilled coral carving that was in fashion during the early 19th century, this dainty necklace is composed of carved Mediterranean coral beads in what is known as a "rolling pin" shape, in graduated sizes. The necklace fastens with its original barrel clasp, made of rolled gold or gold fill. The ends of the necklace feature two slightly larger coral beads.
Necklace measures 15". The smallest beads are 3.5mm and the largest are 6.5mm. The necklace has been professionally restrung by me, and is sturdy and ready to wear. It is in fantastic condition.
