Dating back to a time before cultured pearls gave us perfectly uniform, affordable pearls almost on demand, this elegant Victorian era ring is set with a profusion of wild-harvested, naturally occurring seed pearls. 6 pearls of graduated size are set in the center, surrounded by a halo of 22 smaller pearls around the outside. They show beautiful variations in color, and have been worn to a soft, ethereal glow.
Ring fits a size 6.5, and measures 0.75" long by 0.25" wide. It has no hallmarks or maker's marks, but tests as 14k gold. It is in great condition for its age- the pearls have worn down a bit, but naturally occurring pearls like these are made almost entirely of layers of nacre, the pearlescent substance that gives pearls their shine, so they will never lose their glow.
