The "pickets and berries" style of necklace was all the rage during the Victorian and Edwardian eras, enduring all the way until the 1950s. This charming mother of pearl version dates to between the 1890s and 1910s, and is an exceptional example of this style. Luminous, hand-carved mother of pearl "pickets" are separated by pearlescent glass beads. This is an unusually long example of this style.
Necklace measures 19" long. It is on its original mercerized cotton cord, with its original brass clasp. It is in excellent condition.
