Antique Victorian Persian Turquoise Bombe Ring

An absolutely delicious assortment of sky blue Persian turquoise is clustered into the perfect, bubbly dome in this Victorian era bombe ring. This is an exceptionally large example of this style of ring. While most antique turquoise exhibits some (or much!) discoloration over time, these stones have remained vibrant and nearly identical in color. Pave set, with lovely shared prongs that look like tiny flowers, the cabochons are set in silver, mounted on a 9k rose gold shank. Often, these turquoise cluster rings were Austro-Hungarian in origin. I don't have exact confirmation of where this one came from, but the fabrication technique, large size, and fine quality of the turquoise cabochons is consistent with Bohemian and Austro-Hungarian examples from the second half of the 19th century. 

Ring fits a size 7. It is in wonderful shape, though it does show two faint white solder lines (where it looks to have been resized with either silver or white gold solder- at the center back of the band, and inside under the top dome.) It is in wonderfully wearable condition, with minimal wear showing in the turquoise cabochons themselves.
