This sweet treat is a fantastic example of the broad color range of garnets, featuring a blush pink umbalite garnet with a touch of lilac hue. Umbalite is a variety of garnet found in the Umba Valley of Africa, a combination of pyrope, almandine and spessartite garnet which exhibits a striking brilliance and fire. Like other varieties of garnet, this specimen exhibits a subtle color change effect, appearing a cooler lilac pink in daylight and a warmer rose pink in incandescent light. This dainty oval cut is set with two vintage brilliant cut diamonds, and two antique style rose cuts, all in 14k yellow gold.
The setting is entirely hand fabricated using wire and sheet made in-studio, starting from pure 24k gold grain.
