A delightful, delicately engraved token of affection, this rather sentimental example of a late Victorian sweetheart pin is made of a beautiful mix of sterling silver, rose gold and yellow gold. Sweetheart pins were given as romantic gifts to loved ones, often before a long absence, as a reminder of their affection. This example features a motif of leaves and tiny flowers.
The back of the pin is stamped with British hallmarks for the city of Chester, and dated 1894. Front of pin is in excellent condition, back shows some slight dents.
