This dainty and feminine version of the iconic buckle bracelet was made by the American manufacturer Hayward Sterling (originally Walter E. Hayward Co.), likely during the 1930s or 1940s. Buckle bracelets have had multiple eras of popularity, most notably during the late 1800s, and this iteration falls squarely into a time period when Victorian Revival fashion was all the rage. Symbolizing fidelity and commitment, buckle bracelets have long been given, and worn, as tokens of both friendship and romantic affection. This bracelet is adorned with a delicate engraved floral pattern.
This bracelet is adjustable, with a functional buckle. The largest size is 2.5" circumference (about 7.85" diameter) and the smallest hole fits 2.25" circumference (7" diameter). It is stamped "Hayward Sterling"
